The Physical Therapy Technician course takes approximately 43.75 weeks full time.
Objectives
Students will learn anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, Pathology, modality applications that ultrasound, massage, therapeutic exercises, electrical stimulations, hydrotherapy and other modalities applications. Students will develop a working knowledge of specimen collection and various laboratory procedures to include infection control, EKG, injections, blood draws, and sterilization. Students will also learn proper techniques in assisting minor surgical procedures and preparation of patients for diagnostic tests. The program includes lectures, laboratory exercise and practice. The PTT will work under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist in a variety of settings providing support, training and treatment for patients who are recovering from an injury or adapting to trauma or disability. Graduates will be prepared for entry-level positions.
